Mary: Dear James, these days it seems like no other enterprise seems as interesting, important and fruitful as to go inwards and establish myself in the Self. I have the feeling that no move I make in the material world would be worth it unless it comes from a well-established (and true) spiritual center. At the same time, it is such a weird time that this reorienting creates confusion and conflict. As old parts of me fall apart, and old identifications lose power over me, sometimes I have a hard time establishing “what’s real” or simply “what to do” on a day-to-day basis. I am looking forward to your guidance on this one. Please let me know if I can be of any help to you. Sending you a big hug, and thanks in advance for your wisdom.
James: You are what’s real, Mary. You needn’t decide what to do. When you wake up in the morning, just do what is in front of you with a cheerful mind. It is not the right or the wrong thing. It is your karma and exactly what Isvara wants you to do. With this attitude the newfound sense of dispassion will increase and the sense of doership and worry will decrease.
