Ramana’s Teachings

I just read “The teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi.” I have been seeking for 50 years and I did gain something sometimes but never enough to stop seeking. Ten years back I started the path of Advaita guided by Sunyamurti. That led to Ramana and Nisargadatta but I really couldn’t understand what they said, probably because they were translated into English, which is not my native tongue. But your writing conveyed the meaning beyond words and opened an important door that caused a profound revelation. There are no words to express my gratitude.
James: Yes. It isn’t only because they were translated into English, Michael. My teachers taught in English. My article was written in English. It was because their words were translated by people who weren’t Self actualized, who had not been properly taught by a mahatma. So they interpreted what they read according to their own experience, which may be marginally helpful but which, as you say is not enough. Anyway, appreciation is much appreciated. I am happy that The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi had such a beneficial impact on you. May the revealing words of traditional Advaita Vedanta continue to bless you!
