When you say THERE IS SUFFERING, you make it real. Stop giving it a name and just be with it.
James: I haven’t had a bad day for 50+ years so there is no suffering to “be with.” I’ve enjoyed every day from dawn till dusk. But even if I did, naming suffering doesn’t make it real because suffering…like enjoyment…is directly experienced by everyone who suffers or enjoys. If I make suffering real I make enjoyment real. Nobody cares what anybody says about suffering or enjoyment. Sometimes, however, people think they are enjoying themselves when they are suffering because they have normalized what is abnormal. People seek pleasure like crazy to get relief from suffering. So if someone is suffering from the belief that pain is pleasure, it may be useful to point out that they are really suffering. Mostly it doesn’t work because there is usually a perverse payoff. Those who enjoy suffering are called masochists as you know.
You didn’t ask but I will tell you why I don’t suffer and won’t suffer. I am non-dual association less awareness, that which wordlessly observes suffering and enjoyment.
