Student: James, this is just a simple note of gratitude. I just wanted to express how truly grateful I am for all your efforts bringing Vedanta to our Western culture. Like many others that found their way to your work, I bounced around the “Neos” for years. Interestingly, it’s not as though I wasn’t experiencing a powerful connection to much of what they were saying – it’s just that it all felt agitatingly uncohesive.
The very first video of yours that I watched, I was overwhelmed by emotion. I don’t know how I knew, but somehow I was confident that this very long search (for whatever the hell I’d been looking for) was finally over.
Months later now, I can’t possibly express my sense of relief – it’s like an all-encompassing sense of Total Completeness! Absolute Satisfaction!

James: Appreciation is much appreciated. I’m so glad that Vedanta found you. Yes, the Neos have bits and pieces but no big picture, no “cohesion,” to use your word. So thanks all around, but particularly to your good self for sticking to it – grace is earned.
