Dear James,
I bow down on your feet on the day of Guru Purnima. Let me share my confidence and conviction after I listened to your Vedanta retreat at Westerwald yesterday. At 1:18 minutes of video 15 the meaning deeply penetrated inside me and a conviction sprouted regarding the knowledge of self that you explained so beautifully. You said that Awareness is reflected through my or your subtle body then shines on the objects so we can see the objects. And you mentioned there is no difference between (OM, consciousness/ awareness, light) and reflected light (OM).
Now, I am totally convinced that I can never chase or recognize awareness directly because awareness, the self, is me and already realized. I always mostly listen to the Westerwald 2014 seeries. It’s completely enlightening for those seekers and devotees who are seriously on the direct path of Vedanta.
I’ll share you one amazing incident for the first time in my life. When I came from work at midnight I did a little chanting of God’s name before falling asleep. After a couple of hours I was awakened by an intense hummming sound. But I was not there, only the intense OM sound. From early that morning the flute of Lord Krishna was continuously going on within me. I am so happy to know that your personal deity is Lord Krishna. I did meditation on Krishna’s form for 47 years. For the last 9 years I am listening to His divine sound.
Two years ago when I became Nisargadatta Maharaj’s disciple through satguru Ann Shaw of the Inchegiri Navanaath lineage. I am feeling blessed, contented. I am traveling to Nepal soon to get my old parents here in the US for a few months. I will talk to you when I come back.
