GS: Namaste. Liberation means to be free from vasanas. Am I right?
Sundari: Moksa, which is the permanent and automatic ability to discriminate between satya and mithya, means that all ignorance has been removed from the mind. Ignorance or the hypnosis of duality is when the mind is identified with the egoic/doer identity, which is run by fears and desires, likes and dislikes or binding vasanas. Freedom in Vedanta means limitlessness, which translates to freedom from the jiva identity and for the jiva as Jivatman.
GS: Viveka, vairagya are sattvic guna. Then they bind Jivatman. Transcending these and being established in Jivatman is Liberation. Kindly respond.
Sundari: Viveka, vairagya are, among others, qualifications for moksa and will only occur if the mind is qualified and sattva guna is dominant. Sattva guna can become binding if you think that it is moksa. It is not. That is usually the result of the delusion of spiritual arrogance, but it can also be just remaining ignorance, the delusion of duality, in the mind.
The gunas do not bind Jivatman because Jivatman is the Self, beyond the gunas and therefore, beyond the qualifications for moksa because the Self is moksa. It can only bind the jiva if there is still avidya present, in which case, it is the jiva as ego that is deluded, not Jivatman.
GS: Thank you for clarification. I appreciate your unconditional support in my spiritual journeys. Pranamas.
You are always welcome
