Rahasya
Tripura Rahasya – or Mystery Beyond the Trinity – is a purana, one of the source texts of Vedanta, and was one of Ramana Maharshi’s favourites. It is the only text in the whole Vedanta pramana where the guru is portrayed as a ‘woman’. Tripura Rahasya is a story of desire-based human love and its transformation through Self-knowledge to non-dual love. It unfolds the difference between dualistic and non-dual love from the point of view of both the person and the Self, using delightful metaphors.
Like all Puranic texts, it is the Vedas in code, but because Tripura leaves out some of the most fundamental and important teachings in Vedanta, such as qualifications, values, karma yoga, guna yoga the three bodies/five sheaths teachings, so we will teach it in conjunction with Atma Bodh, which covers the whole methodology of Vedanta.
