Thank you so much for this kind reply. It was initially a “shock”, but a good one and has taken a few weeks to assimilate – this process is still ongoing. I saw I was “off beam” when I read it and there are many points in your mail which make this evident, and clearly “I” thought I wasn’t.
Sundari: Funny how much of shock even very subtle ignorance can be when it is discovered hiding out in the mind!
Frank: I was at the Satsang you did that Sunday and particularly your response to c.c. made this even clearer. I as the Self see nothing other than the Self, it illumines the mind which is a pseudo Self – but this is not the Self seeing things in the mind, it is the mind observing the mind.
Sundari: Bingo! Well done. Once Self-knowledge actualizes, even the so-called ‘pseudo self’, which is an object known to you, the Self, ‘becomes’ real in that it is known to be me, though I am not it. You are perfectly satisfied with yourself both as the Self and as the apparent created being.
Frank: This is so key and I cannot yet quite get “my mind” around it. I know it to be true and, it causes me to smile, the logic is clear. It seems like the mind is facing itself with nothing else to say – and this is a puzzle known to me, more I cannot say. Your feedback really helps and yes “keep discriminating!”.
Sundari: Being the Self is what is normal, don’t overthink it. It does seem like the mind is facing itself with nothing left to say – though it is actually the other way around. How could it be any other way? The mind, the object, never knows the subject because it is subtler than it, and only conscious thanks to Consciousness shining on it and in it. But discriminating satya from mithya is the name of the game, until the game is over. Actualizing the Self is a very subtle process, and that process ends when it ends.
It is always such a pleasure to hear from and reply to you. Shine on perfect light!
Much love
Sundari
